തീപിടിത്തം സംബന്ധിച്ച് അന്വേഷണം നടത്തുമെന്ന് റെയില്‍വെ അറിയിച്ചു. അപകടത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് ട്രെയിന് ഗതാഗതം താറുമാറായി. ചെന്നൈയിലേക്കും തിരിച്ചുമുള്ള ട്രെയിന് സര്‍വീസുകള്‍ തടസ്സപ്പെട്ടു. എട്ട് ട്രെയിനുകള്‍ റദ്ദാക്കി. നിരവധി ട്രെയിനുകള്‍ വഴിതിരിച്ചുവിട്ടതായും റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകളുണ്ട്.
