പെസഹാ ചടങ്ങുകളോട് അനുബന്ധിച്ച് വീടുകളിൽ സന്ദർശനം നടത്തുന്നതിനിടെയായിരുന്നു അതിക്രമം. ആരോഗ്യ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ നേരിട്ട കുട്ടി ബന്ധുക്കളോട് വിവരം അറിയിക്കുകയും തുടർന്ന് ബന്ധുക്കൾ പോലീസിലും സഭയിലും വിവരം അറിയിക്കുകയുമായിരുന്നു.

സംഭവത്തിൽ കേസെടുത്തതിന് പിന്നാലെ വൈദികൻ ഒളിവിൽ പോയതായി പോലീസ് പറഞ്ഞു. മൂന്ന് വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുൻപും സമാനമായ കേസിൽ പ്രതിയായ ഫാ.ജോസഫ് കോടിയൻ ജയിൽ ശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിച്ചിരുന്നു.
