സാങ്കേതികമായ നടപടി ക്രമങ്ങളിലുണ്ടായ വീഴ്ചയുടെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിലാണ് ആനക്കൊമ്പ് കൈവശം വെക്കാനുള്ള ലൈസൻസ് ഹൈക്കോടതി റദ്ദാക്കിയത്.
സർക്കാർ നടപടിയിൽ വീഴ്ചയുണ്ടായതായി കോടതി നിരീക്ഷിച്ചു. 2015 ലെ സർക്കാർ വിജ്ഞാപനം ഗസറ്റിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചില്ലെന്ന് കോടതി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി. 2011 ലാണ് എറണാകുളത്തെ മോഹൻലാലിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ റെയ്ഡിനിടെ ആദായ നികുതി വകുപ്പ് ആനക്കൊമ്പ് കണ്ടെത്തിയത്.
ഇത് കണ്ടെത്തുന്ന സമയത്ത് ആനക്കൊമ്പ് കൈവശം വയ്ക്കാനുള്ള ലൈസൻസ് മോഹൻലാലിനുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. പിന്നീട് മോഹൻലാലിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ പരിഗണിച്ച സർക്കാർ 2015 ൽ കൈവശ സർട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റ് നൽകുകയായിരുന്നു.
